Living next to each other on the same mountain, Why does it feel as if separated by the Gate of Ghosts? Days and months fly like a shuttle, and people easily grow old, All this labor and worry is not as good as being at leisure.

Living next to each other means being neighbors. 'Just one mountain' means it is very convenient to visit each other. 'Gate of Ghosts' implies that their hearts and minds are separated, no different from the boundary between the living and the dead. 'Days and months fly like a shuttle' means hoping for something without a set date, resulting in empty delays. 'All this labor' means relying on the wrong people and planning poorly, suffering from futile running around.
