Guan Di Fortune Sticks · Lot 79
Lot 79: Xin-Ren
Traditional fortune label: Moderate
Lot poem
Examine carefully the dragon vein coming from Qian-Hai, Sitting at Kan and facing Wu will bring natural peace. If shifted to Chou-Gen, the Yin and Yang will be reversed, The household will decline and the family fortune will be difficult.
Story and textual notes
This uses compass directions as a metaphor. Qian-Hai is located in the northwest, from where the dragon vein originates, and the meridian is very clear. Kan is due north, and Wu is due south. Sitting at Kan and facing Wu naturally forms a beautiful union of Yin and Yang with the dragon vein from Qian-Hai; how could there be any doubt about stability? If Chou-Gen is located in the northeast, it is Yin-Yang opposite to Qian-Hai. Why move the grave site here? Is it not self-opinionated foolishness? 'Decline of the household' means the family members are not flourishing, and 'difficult family fortune' means property and wealth are declining. It is absolutely clear that people should not act recklessly against natural laws and principles. Directions: Northwest, due north, and due south are all beneficial, while northeast is unfavorable. Years: The years of the Pig (Hai), Rat (Zi), and Horse (Wu) are quite good, while the years of the Ox (Chou) and Tiger (Yin) are less auspicious.
Interpretation
In life and dealings, one must follow heavenly principles. 'The dragon vein from Qian-Hai' indicates that the northwest is an auspicious direction, and sitting north facing south is a peaceful and auspicious orientation. If you ignore the operation of heavenly principles and insist on moving to the northeast, it forms a right angle with the auspicious northwest direction, which is highly unfavorable. If you insist on residing in the northeast, you will face the decline of your family, everything will be unfavorable, and the household members will suffer harm. The fortune is good in the years of Pig (Hai), Rat (Zi), and Horse (Wu), but less favorable in the years of Ox (Chou) and Tiger (Yin).
