Walking loftily and alone towards the clouds, Standing in the very first rank among thousands of officials in the jade palace. Wealth, honor, and prosperity are bestowed upon you by Heaven, May your blessings be as vast as the Eastern Sea and your lifespan as grand as the mountains.
Story and textual notes
Among the clouds: above the blue clouds. Walking loftily and alone: indicates that one's feet tread upon the blue clouds. The thousands of officials in the jade palace refer to the celestial officers of the heavenly bureaucracy. The first rank represents the most honorable of these celestial officers. Prosperity, wealth, and honor are determined by Heaven, and since Heaven has already bestowed them upon you, your blessings and longevity will naturally be limitless. 'Like the sea' describes the vastness and distance of blessings. 'Like the mountain' describes the firmness and permanence of longevity. This is a lot of utmost auspiciousness and great fortune, but it requires the right person in the right place to come to fruition.
