Guan Di Fortune Sticks · Lot 40
The 40th Lot: Ding Gui
Traditional fortune label: Very Auspicious
Lot poem
A newly adopted layout brings a grand scale, Why should you follow in others' footsteps? Just listen for the news to arrive at your ears, After all the rough paths are exhausted, you will see a broad highway.
Story and textual notes
Scale newly changed: shedding the old to embrace the new. Why follow others: making one's own decisions. News arriving: good tidings will arrive soon. Rough paths exhausted: bitterness passes and sweetness comes. Broad highway: a wide road that is flat and smooth, bringing auspiciousness and no disadvantage. The querent must make decisive plans and possess a firm determination for this to come true.
Interpretation
Making changes according to your own will is the best choice. There is no need to be influenced by others; their alarmist talk will only lead you astray, so you must guard against being affected. Good news is on the way. Although you have gone through many ups and downs, what follows will be a broad highway, with bitterness first and sweetness later. This lot signifies a pattern of difficulty first and ease later. But the most important thing is not to be swayed by the opinions of others. Simply make a major change based on your own wishes, and you will have a bright future.
Traditional summary
Fame will ultimately be achieved; lawsuits will be won; pregnancy will result in a son; health is guaranteed without illness; travelers will return; marriage should be finalized; though things are delayed, there will be abundant celebrations.
