Guan Di Fortune Sticks · Lot 58

The 58th Lot: Ji Xin

Traditional fortune label: Very Auspicious

Lot poem

Su Qin's three-inch tongue was enough for his lifetime, Wealth, honor, and fame lie in this journey. It is even better to perform acts of silent virtue, And your future path of ten thousand miles will naturally be smooth and prosperous.

Story and textual notes

Three inches refers to the tongue. Su Qin wagged his three-inch tongue and wore the seals of prime minister for six states, possessing a hundred pairs of white jade and ten thousand pieces of gold, which was indeed 'enough for his lifetime.' This journey is similar to that; wealth can be obtained, and fame can be achieved, hence the phrase 'in this journey.' Performing acts of silent virtue instructs one to accumulate merit and pray to Heaven. A smooth and prosperous future means that human effort and heavenly timing come together, like a long ship riding the waves or a swan soaring in the wind, reaching ten thousand miles away, bringing auspiciousness and nothing unfavorable. This will not be fulfilled for those who do not practice silent virtue.

Interpretation

Relying on a silver tongue, you can keep yourself well-fed and clothed; you are a natural born orator. Moreover, this action will bring you success and fame, allowing you to enjoy wealth and glory, reaching the peak of your life. However, if you want your wealth and honor to last, you must accumulate more silent virtue and do more good deeds. Your future path will be longer and free of obstacles. If you ignore the accumulation of virtue, even if good luck arrives, it will only be temporary and will eventually bring misfortune. Furthermore, for those who do not perform good deeds, drawing this lot is equivalent to getting nothing, as they will not be blessed with good fortune.

Traditional summary

Illness will soon heal, lawsuits will be won, the traveler will return, marriage should be finalized, pregnancy will bring a boy, family fortunes will flourish, accumulate silent virtue, and blessings will naturally respond.
