Guan Di Fortune Sticks · Lot 81
Lot 81: Ren Jia
Traditional fortune label: Good Fortune
Lot poem
When you borrow property, it should naturally be returned; Those who scheme to default and act deceitfully are self-corrupting. Fortunately, there is a bright mirror hanging high in the hall; Bring it to reflect and expose all hidden schemes.
Story and textual notes
Returning borrowed goods is natural and reasonable. Scheming to default and acting deceitfully is a deviation from reason. Though the deceived may be weak in power, Heaven will not tolerate the deceiver. The bright mirror on the high platform symbolizes a just and wise official. A bright mirror is sufficient to observe the finest details, and clear wisdom is sufficient to uncover hidden conspiracies. There is no scheme that cannot be exposed. Why do the deceitful not realize this sooner? For those inquiring about matters, fulfillment may occur in autumn, or after the fifteenth day of the lunar month when the moon is full.
Interpretation
Borrowing and returning is human nature. When lending items to others, one hopes they will return them of their own accord. However, if the other party is cunning and intentionally defaults or delays, you are helpless. Fortunately, there is still divine justice, like a bright mirror on a high platform, which illuminates all truths and exposes evil schemes. A deceitful heart can bully others, but it cannot deceive divine justice. In the end, it cannot win against heaven's laws, and delayed justice...
