Guan Di Fortune Sticks · Lot 88
Lot 88: Ren Xin
Traditional fortune label: Very Auspicious
Lot poem
Past endeavors were always in vain, Only with the new spring do times gradually improve. Every scheme and plan will succeed to your satisfaction, Yet you must still stay humble and not let your heart fly too high.
Story and textual notes
Past efforts in vain refers to the hardship of past fortune. Joy of the new spring refers to the prosperity of later fortune. Success in pursuits means success in all matters. Do not let your heart fly too high; knowing when to stop prevents danger. Those who draw this lot should find it fulfilled in the spring season, mainly bringing favorable encounters. However, rise and fall, wax and wane, each has its fixed portion. One must not seek excessively; excessive seeking will breed disasters. Let those who are greedy take heed and be warned.
Interpretation
In the past, you often did futile work and faced obstacles in everything. At the turn of spring, your luck suddenly changes, bringing a joyous atmosphere. Everything becomes exceptionally smooth, wishes come true, and whatever you do succeeds. At this time, you must be even more humble toward others and not become arrogant because of success. You must keep your feet on the ground, as losing yourself in success will ruin your good fortune. This lot indicates that the arrival of the new spring is the start of good luck. You must seize this good fortune and not waste it due to temporary self-satisfaction.
