Traditional fortune label: Moderate Oracle Lot
Lot poem
The dream in Handan is an infinite illusion, Years of glory and honor were but a deep sleep. Changing into brocade robes to return to the hometown, Upon waking up, it is still remembered in the heart.
Story and textual notes
The Handan illusion is the Golden Millet Dream (Huangliang Dream). The story took place in the Tang Dynasty. A scholar named Lu Sheng stayed at an inn in Handan. He met a Taoist priest named Lu, who gave him a pillow. Sleeping on it, Lu Sheng had a dream where he enjoyed decades of prosperity and wealth. When he woke up, he was extremely hungry, and the millet being cooked by the innkeeper was not even done yet.
Interpretation
This oracle lot reminds people not to believe in illusions and to keep their feet on the ground. If one wishes to return home in glory without just daydreaming, one must work practically. At the same time, it also implies that one should avoid being deceived and be cautious of others' sweet talk and sugar-coated bullets.
Traditional summary
