The 67th Oracle Lot: Li Yuanba Claims Supremacy
Traditional fortune label: Moderate
Lot poem
Though his courage and strength are unmatched by any man, Do not rely on heroism to dominate the field alone. Even if you could carry Mount Tai and leap over the North Sea, The body and mind still must value survival above all.
Story and textual notes
Li Yuanba was the number one prominent figure of the Sui and Tang dynasties. Young and strong with unmatched martial arts skills, he laid the foundation for the establishment of the Tang Dynasty. Unfortunately, this hero had a short life and was sacrificed on the battlefield.
Interpretation
This oracle serves as a reminder not to show off too much or push things to the extreme, as it is easy to wear oneself out. The oracle says that although Li Yuanba was unstoppable in capability, one should not rely on youthful hotheadedness to show off power everywhere. Even if you have the power to lift Mount Tai or overturn the seas, you should still value and care for your own life. One cannot simply rely on aggression and brute force in life.
Traditional summary
