Guan Di Fortune Sticks · Lot 11
The 11th Lot: Yi Jia
Traditional fortune label: Most Unfavorable
Lot poem
This year's good things will be completely new, Wealth, honor, and glory will gather upon you. Who could foresee the hidden traps and schemes, In the end, standing alone, you will only grieve.
Story and textual notes
A fresh start: at first, the situation is highly satisfying. Gathering upon you: the exterior appears glorious. Yet who knows that clouds turn to rain and the weather is unpredictable; people deceive one another, and human feelings are hard to gauge. Once falling into a trap, it is completely unexpected. Standing alone and grieving: the path of the petty person rises, while the path of the noble person declines. In terms of timing, this is the 'Bo' (Peeling Away) hexagram. When peeling reaches its limit, return begins. If the noble person remains upright and steadfast, it is auspicious. If one fights schemes with schemes, one loses the true meaning of handling the 'Bo' state.
Interpretation
From the beginning of this year, good things will continue, making everything very smooth, and you will appear glorious. However, everything in life is hard to predict, and the world changes constantly. Being plotted against and framed by petty people will make you grieve in secret. But this is the time that tests a noble person. If you also play tricks like the other party, how are you any different from them? At this time, you should calm your mind. When fortune is bad, resisting it will not help; it is better to wait for the arrival of good fortune, as extreme adversity eventually brings prosperity.
Traditional summary
Do not covet; fame is not achieved; wealth and salary are average; lawsuits are unfavorable; illness is critical; affairs fail; asking about travelers: many obstacles.
