Guan Di Fortune Sticks · Lot 63
The 63rd Oracle Lot: Geng Bing
Traditional fortune label: Good Fortune
Lot poem
Having suffered defeat in the past, yet planning to head south, Though strength is declining, it can still endure one more trial. If you wish to know your pre-destined fate in this life, Look to the former three-times-three and the latter three-times-three.
Story and textual notes
Campaigning in the north and planning for the south indicates that past events went smoothly, like a soldier succeeding in several places. Once strength declines, a sudden fall might seem hopeless. However, at first one goes from success to failure, and later from failure to success. 'Still can endure' means one can still achieve something. Fate is like this, pre-determined before birth. 'The former three-times-three' and 'latter three-times-three' are the proofs of fate. It may correspond to the number three, six, or nine. Analyze when things happen and do not stick rigidly to one interpretation.
Interpretation
In the past, campaigning in the south and north went smoothly and as wished. Although it cost a lot of strength and minor defeats occurred occasionally, and there is currently some blockage, you will eventually turn defeat into victory and still win. All of this is pre-determined by Heaven. This lot has numbers indicating 'former three-times-three and latter three-times-three', which point to numbers like three, six, and nine. However, depending on the matter questioned, the interpretation varies; do not take things out of context, and consider other factors.
Traditional summary
Illness can be cured; lawsuits will eventually be settled; wealth is ordinary; messages are reliable; fame will be prosperous; marriage can be proposed; do not strive by force, but let things be determined by one's lot.
