A leaf of a celestial raft floats in the midstream, Allowing you to roam the Moon Palace and Toad Palace at will. The Rainbow and Feather Garment melody filling the ears pauses briefly, When will the chanting of poetry and drinking of wine ever cease?
Story and textual notes
Emperor Ming of Tang, namely Xuanzong Li Longji, consolidated corrupt administration when he first ascended the throne, allowing the national economy to develop, known in history as the 'Rule of Kaiyuan.' Unfortunately, he later indulged in ease and pleasure, living a romantic and merry life with Imperial Consort Yang, and allowed favored officials to engage in corruption and fraud, which triggered the 'An-Shi Rebellion'.
Interpretation
This celestial lot only speaks of a scene of prosperity and happiness. Emperor Ming of Tang obtained a celestial boat and soared straight up to the high heavens to roam the Moon Palace, with celestial music drifting and heard everywhere. In legend, the 'Rainbow and Feather Garment Melody' was obtained because of this. Poetry, wine, song, and dance go on without end. Obtaining this celestial lot, although it is a sign of great fortune and prosperity, and everything going as wished, one must be vigilant not to indulge too much in wine, women, and comfort.
