The flowery colors slowly creep onto the steps, From afar, I know the moon mirror hangs in the vast sky. Suddenly hearing the mournful cry of a crane, Quickly buy a return boat to head back home.
Story and textual notes
Xu Shu was an outstanding politician and military strategist of the Three Kingdoms era, and a good friend of Kongming. Originally, Xu Shu intended to assist Liu Bei in establishing his imperial empire. However, Cao Cao used Xu Shu's mother as a hostage, forcing Xu Shu to change his mind, return to his hometown, and fall into Cao Cao's hands.
Interpretation
When Xu Shu left Liu Bei, he recommended Zhuge Liang on horseback, highly praising Kongming. After Xu Shu returned home, his mother scolded him severely for falling into Cao Cao's trap. Caught in a dilemma between filial piety and righteousness, Xu Shu served as an official under Cao Cao, but his heart always remained with Han while his body was in Cao's camp. This oracle lot describes Xu Shu's deep longing for his mother and his eagerness to return home after being granted leave by Cao Cao. This oracle lot contains misfortune within fortune, but one can turn misfortune into fortune. If you know how to pursue the good and avoid the bad, there will be no harm. It is advisable to guard against backstabbers, gossip, and arguments.
