Traditional fortune label: Moderate
Lot poem
Although Cao Cao has deep and scheming plans, His wisdom cannot outwit Marquis Zhuge. See how even the eastern wind can be borrowed, And how flowing horses and wooden oxen are made.
Story and textual notes
During the Three Kingdoms period, Kongming was the strategist and Prime Minister of Liu Bei. In contending with the treacherous hero Cao Cao, he used his strategies many times to defeat Cao Cao soundly.
Interpretation
What is mentioned in the lot are just two representative deeds. First, Kongming borrowed the eastern wind to burn Chibi; Second, he invented the transport tools of 'wooden oxen and flowing horses' to transport food and supplies. Cao Cao had conspiracies and tricks, but it was hard for him to surpass Zhuge Liang's wisdom. For those who obtain this oracle lot, in matters big or small, they must maintain justice in their hearts, never deceive themselves or others, and act open and aboveboard to stay away from petty people. Everything is unfavorable, and one must guard against gossip and slander from petty people; if one's heart is upright and open, danger can be turned into safety.
