Story and textual notes
Wu Yuan, also known as Wu Zixu, was a man of Chu during the Spring and Autumn and Warring States periods. His father and brother were killed by King Ping of Chu. Fortunately, he escaped to the State of Wu in time. He later assisted the King of Wu in attacking Chu, excavated King Ping's tomb, and whipped the corpse three hundred times to vent his hatred. When Wu Yuan fled, he faced numerous difficulties, and his hair turned white overnight.
Interpretation
This oracle lot recounts Wu Yuan meeting a benefactor during his escape. When Wu Zixu was fleeing, he was blocked by the river, with no way forward and pursuers behind.
