Lot 61: Yue Fei Recalled by Twelve Gold Tablets
Traditional fortune label: Most Unfavorable
Lot poem
Twelve gold tablets swiftly recall him, When will the villain's scheming turn to ash? Alas! In a single day, all his achievements disperse, Young and old cling to his carriage, weeping without end.
Story and textual notes
Yue Fei, a loyal and patriotic general of the Song Dynasty, routed the Jin army and was on the verge of advancing directly to Huanglong to rescue the captive Emperors Huizong and Qinzong. Unfortunately, the traitorous chancellor Qin Hui forged imperial decrees and unauthorizedly used twelve gold tablets to recall Yue Fei. Subsequently, he framed and executed Yue Fei and his son on charges of treason.
Interpretation
This lot is most unfavorable, implying being harmed by treacherous people at the very moment of imminent success. When the twelve gold tablets recalled Yue Fei, the common people, supporting the old and carrying the young, saw him off with deep sorrow. To seek good fortune and avoid misfortune after drawing this lot, one must first cultivate kindness and accumulate blessings, secondly be guarded against petty people at all times, and thirdly build wide connections and goodwill. Always listen to the advice of others. Be vigilant against the harm of petty people in everything, and do more good deeds to cultivate wide goodwill. Only then can you dissolve this ominous energy, turn bad luck into good, and transform disaster into blessings. It is advisable to make offerings to the heavens for good fortune.
Traditional summary
Wealth is lost and wasted; travelers have not arrived; silkworms and livestock yield no profit; pregnancy and illness are both full of hardship; the household is uneasy and must be remedied by accumulating good deeds; asking about marriage is even worse; planned endeavors should not be pursued.
